Is segregation and privilege wrong?

Privileged Prius Parking

If you really think about it, hybrids and alternative fuel cars should be forced to park as far away as possible. Allowing them to park so close forces the gas guzzlers to burn more fuel looking for a spot thus forcing more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Hybrids are already fuel efficient enough, you don’t need to reward them by giving them the same treatment as handicapped parking. I can understand electric cars being allowed to park close so they can plug into their USB chargers or swap out their D batteries.

Can we agree that segregation and privilege are wrong?

How to Park Like a Pro: Unwritten Parking Rules

If you are in a parking lot with many open spaces, find someone getting in or out of their car and attempt to park in the space next to them.  Try to look as inconvenienced as possible.

If you see them trying to pull through the lane in front of them, back into that spot. Find someone unloading their groceries into the side of their car as they take up two lanes.

If you are unloading your groceries, leave your buggy in the space so that someone else doesn’t have to move it to the park. Time-saving tip: Just park and walk instead of waiting in that space that is only two spots closer.

Find a spot close to the front of a hotel. Have your children wait in the spot as you drop the bags off at the entrance. Come back to the spot where your children are putting their lives on the line for your convenience.

Why Backing Into Parking Spots Can Save You Time

Are you the type of driver that backs into a parking spot? If so, then why? Are you saving the hassle later by wedging yourself into a spot while others wait for you to finish your 3-point turn? Are you trying to prove how good of a driver you are with your skill display? Or is the real reason for a quick getaway for a zombie apocalypse or a similar situation?

Why not just find two empty spots and pull through? That way, there’s no backing out or is required. Or maybe you are a defensive driver and want to be safe. That’s probably it. Do you use your side and rearview mirrors, or do you have a backup camera? Which do you prefer?

How to Claim Your Parking Spot Anywhere

Whenever you are faced with the challenge of finding a place to park you can always create your own. You can park on the curb, in the grass, and even block someone in their spot. It’s ok, you are all at the movie theater so eventually, you will come out and they will be able to leave as well. Works everywhere including baseball fields where parking is limited.

If you don’t want anyone to park near you, keep a couple of traffic cones with you and place them in spaces next to you. Looks really official.

Back in my youth, I wanted to carry a grease pencil so I could write on windshields, but in our day of YouTubers, I’m sure I would be arrested in this day and age.
